Submission Tips

A word on Submissions:

First, thank you for submitting something to the community. Every post is welcomed and encouraged. These submission tips are in response to the dozen or so posts we get every day where a photo doesn’t work or a link isn’t working. The community gets around 50 submissions a day. These are added to the queue and posted over time so we don’t spam Dashboards. It might take a little while for yours to work its way up but don’t worry, we post 90% of what we get. If there’s a discussion topic going we generally only select a few representative posts.

To link your Tumblr, type out the full address of the Tumblr like: http://fuckyeahftms.tumblr.com Then highlite the address of your Tumblr and click on the link icon (looks like a chain link). This will ask for the link address again. Type it in here again and press the INSERT button. There, that’s it, your Tumblr link is included.

READ READ READ READ - VERY IMPORTANT ABOUT PHOTO POSTS!

Please make sure you use the insert/edit image button for posting photos. This is required. This is the little tree icon on the submission page. The reason for this is that HTML IMG tags and shortcust often FAIL miserably. ALSO:

1. You cannot link photos from Facebook, Gmail, or any other service that requires a password unless they specifically let you (ie. Photobucket will let you link)

2. If you’re not sure your photo will work, before submitting take the link of the phoot, sign out of whatever service you got it from, post it into another browser window, and see if it appears. If it does this it’s probably ok.

3. We STRONGLY encourage people to use services like Tinypic.com and PhotoBucket.com and send us the LAST link.

It’ll look something like this:

http://i55.tinypic.com/1zch4jl.jpg

If it has [IMG] on it, or if you see the % symbol in the address it will not work.

4. Flickr photos MAY OR MAY NOT show up. It all depends on the privacy settings of your Flickr and that photo. Flickr photos will not show up if the photos are marked private, and in some cases even if they’re public.

You must use the link with the filename and extension as the end of the url.

5. NSFW content: You’re free to submit NSFW content but it MUST be under a cut. The cut can be a little problematic so we will always insert it for you if you forget. There hasn’t been lot of the racy stuff but there has been no complaints yet on what has been posted. If you have thoughts on this it would be very helpful. Otherwise submit what you’d like.

DID YOU READ ALL OF THAT FIRST? :)
